Thoughts on today’s runners – Saturday
We send out three runners today at different tracks across the country. Percy’s Lad will be the first line up at Chester at 1.35pm, Tom Eaves will be in the saddle. It’s then over to Sandown where Andaleep runs at 3.00pm under Richard Kingscote. Finally we head to Chelmsford for Aira Force who runs at 7.15pm, William Carver will be on board claiming a valuable 3lbs.
Percy’s Lad
Percy’s Lad won this race last year under today’s jockey Tom Eaves. He had a bit of a break after his trip to Galway where nothing really went right for him. He has a tricky draw to overcome.
Lord Bertie could still prove to be a class above handicap company, if not this race may suit hold up performers such as Boardman.
Percy runs in the colours of owner Alan Kerr and will be led up by Sammy Barnett who cares for him daily at home.
Andaleep
Andaleep has done nothing but keep improving since joing the yard and will probably need a career best here in a strong looking race. In his favour he loves Sandown.
This looks fiercely competitive. Dual Identity and Lord Protector both ran well at Glorious Goodwood and the latter has a good record at Sandown.
The gelding runs for owner James Finch and will be led up by Shannon Pasotti who rides and cares for him daily at home.
Aira Force
Aira Force needs to bounce back from a poor effort last time out. There was no obvious reason for that run so hopefully it was just one of those things and we can put a line through it and crack on.
This looks to be a very competitive race where a case can be made for a lot of the runners.
Aira Force runs in the colours of owner and breeders Gary and Lesley Middlebrook. She will be led up by Tamsin Karn who cares for her daily at home.
