Thoughts on today’s runners – Thursday
Two runners today, Crimson Spirit heads to Nottingham where he runs in the 2.10pm under Richard Kingscote. It’s then off to Sandown where Southwold lines up in the 8.15pm, William Buick takes the ride.
Crimson Spirit
Crimson Spirit was very green on his debut (somewhat expected). He looks to have learned a bit from that experience and should be more professional here. The penny dropped as the race went on and he finished off quite nicely. We’re hopeful of a better showing here.

Crimson Spirit
There’s good prize money on offer here. It would seem likely that some of the newcomers are quite well thought of to have been aimed at this particular race. However, Cuban Grey and ran well on debut and sets a decent standard.
Crimson Spirit runs for syndicate Innovate Racing I. He will be led up by James Pulley.
Southwold
Southwold looked to need the run on his first start after a break. With that under his belt he should step forward on that run. He also gets cheekpieces to keep him focussed. We are just monitoring the ground as he probably wants it at least good to show his best.

Southwold
This looks a competitive handicap and cases could be made for quite a few. D Day Odette seemed to appreciate the drop back in trip. Roman Dynasty has been in good form of late although was well held by Southwold when they met on the all weather.
Southwold runs in the colours of owner breeders Gary & Lesley Middlebrook. He will be led up today by Epona Miller who cares for him daily at home.
