Thoughts on tonight’s runners at Chepstow
Dixie’s Double makes her debut in the 6.35. Paddy Pilley rides in the five furlong novice race for two year olds. Dixie’s Double is straight forward filly who is enthusiastic about her training and should give her owners plenty of fun. She’s sure to learn from today’s debut.
Her Terms brings the best form to the race and looks the likelist winner.
Silhouette runs in the last at 9.05. Timmy Murphy rides in the mile handicap. Silhouette didn’t really get the run of the race over ten furlongs at Lingfield last time and probably wasn’t ideally suited to the track either. A mile is no problem and he can probably chop and change between the two distances at this stage of his career.
The race looks a competitive contest but at this time of year it’s typical that the improving three year olds have a bit of an edge over the more exposed older horses. Waking and Four Poets look the main dangers with the consistent Uncle Dermot providing the benchmark they all have to live up to.
