Thoughts on Trimoulet at Chelmsford today
Trimoulet makes his handicap debut in the 4.10 at Chelmsford City today (Wednesday, 28th January). Daniel Tudhope takes the ride in the ten furlong handicap, in what will be a first runner at the track and the excellent Daniel’s first ride for the yard. Trimoulet has been a work in progress and is still learning to race. He has improved with each start to date and should improve again from his recent second at Southwell. The step up in trip ought to be to his liking as he was staying on well at the end last time out. He is well drawn and should give a good account. There is a slight concern about a lack of pace as anything that has raced prominently on a regular basis is drawn wider.
The main danger looks to be Vosne Romanee who has done well for his current yard since joining them, he has only run over hurdles but looks to have improved and if he can translate that back to the flat could be well handicapped. Thecornishcowboy is another likely candidate and although his best form is over further he has won over ten furlongs in lower grades and he looks well handicapped at present.
