Thoughts on Trimoulet’s bid for a hat-trick tomorrow

Trimoulet makes his his bid for a hat-trick tomorrow (13th February) evening in the 7.45 at Wolverhampton. Tony Hamilton will once again be in the saddle for the mile and a half handicap. Trimoulet brushed aside inferior opposition last time over course and distance and has been raised nine pounds by the handicapper for that, he runs off his old mark with a six pound penalty so is theoretically three pounds well in. He has come out of his race well and this will be his third run in sixteen days. He has just ticked over at home. Whatever the outcome it has been a pleasure to see the patience of all concerned with this lovely horse being rewarded and he will give us a lot of fun going forward. Last weeks’ win was particularly special as his wonderful dam Riberac had just given birth to a Frankel colt. Trimoulet is her seventh runner of which all seven have been winners a rare achievement for any mare and big well done  to his breeders and the team at Wood Farm who play such a vital role in raising the horses.

The opposition is the stiffest that Trimoulet has faced since entering handicap company and there are some useful in form horses in opposition. Aldeburgh won nicely in a higher grade last Friday and is has won two of his three starts since joining his current trainer and is seen as the chief danger. He is very much proven and will make sure that Trimoulet has to justify his current rating. Aristocracy was a winner when last seen on the flat and has posted some useful efforts over hurdles for current connections since joining them and warrants respect as do last time out second placed horses Sheriff of Nawton and Lineman.
