Thoughts on Trinity River at Windsor this evening

Trinity River has her third start at Windsor this evening (29th of July) in the 6.30. Thomas Brown, the seasons leading apprentice has his first ride for us in the five furlong fillies maiden. Trinity River made an encouraging debut at Salisbury. She didn’t really build on that performance as much as we had hoped on her second start at York, but in fairness to her things didn’t pan out for her very well in the race and she had little chance with what looked a very smart winner in any case. She got a bit wound up on a very humid hot day before hand and it may also be that the long journey and overnight stay took a bit out of such an inexperienced filly last time. She has always shown promise in her homework and is in good heart so let’s hope she is more relaxed before hand and can show her best on the course this evening.

Trinity River may have to be right up to the best of her homework as Oriel has a lot of talent and despite perhaps not being the most straightforward of horses has plenty of ability and with the cheek pieces on could take all the beating. Go Glamorous looked an early season two year old of fair ability but didn’t run at all well in the Queen Mary, given a bit of a break she may be refreshed however a few of these might have progressed past her at this stage. Simple Magic has not been seen for nearly three months but showed she could be useful in a strong maiden first time out and her trainers runners often progress significantly from their first start. Gentle Breeze should improve for being dropped back to five furlongs and sets a decent and more reliable standard than those already mentioned.
