Thoughts on two runners at Wolverhampton today
Two runners this evening at Wolverhampton (Friday January 22nd). Who’sthedaddy tackles a mile and a half under Timmy Murphy in the 5.45 handicap. Whos’thedaddy won twice under Timmy in the summer over a mile and a quarter on turf. He is a slightly inconsistent performer often travelling well in his races. He did try a mile and half in the middle of last year and it was felt he wasn’t quite ready for it at the time.
The race looks competitive with nothing looking particularly progressive at the moment. Recent winners Lions Charge, Step On It and Mary Le Bow look amongst the main dangers.
Virtuous Belle makes her raceourse debut in the seven furlong maiden at 7.15 under Joe Fanning. A big raw filly she is expected to learn a good deal from the experience as she has been quite green at home.
Bartok is the only horse with racecourse form and looks like he will be tough to beat unless one of the newcomers has a fair amount of ability on debut.
