Thoughts on two runners today at Brighton and Kempton

Zippy Brighton 5.10

ZippyZippy makes the journey to Brighton today (Tuesday 4th October) for the 5.10 five furlong contest with Steve Drowne aboard. A filly that ran a solid race over this distance at Bath before being drawn wide at Kempton and not having the run of the race on her penultimate start. A slight concern for Zippyis the going.

The race looks to be a competitive contest in its own right with one or two horses showing that they have recently come to form. Virile is an obvious starting point winning last time out comfortably in the end and staying on strongly. The game Oat Couture is another horse to consider in the race after running a solid race at Bath against Zippy, where Zippy seemed some what unlucky in running, Oat Couture stayed on nicely again to be third next time. If the draw doesn’t scupper Zippy’s chances, she should show herself in the finish and is perfectly capable of winning a race of this standard.

Karnage Kempton 7.40

Our second runner of the day is Karnage, he takes his chances in the 7.40 at Kempton over one mile with Adam Kirby doing the steering . Karnage could be described as a little frustrating in his career by only winning one of his starts. After a short break and a little time to relax after a disappointing run last time out, he is doing everything right on the gallops at home and should be suited by the visit back to the all weather.

A distance that will be sharp enough for Karnage, but with a lot of pace in the race that could come from Ravenhoe or The Cornish Barron, Karnage should relish the strong test of stamina and enjoy his time out on the track. Cryptic appears to be a horse in good form, winning over course and distance last time out and he is sure to be in the mix along with Ravenhoe who got the job done last time quite impressively from the front.
