Thoughts on Wednesday’s runners

Two runners today at Southwell. Crimson Spirit is first up at 5.45pm with Kieran Shoemark in the saddle followed by Lil Guff in the 8.15pm, Sean Levey takes the ride on the filly. Both horses take part in the Racing League series and represent team London & The South.

Crimson Spirit

Crimson Spirit won nicely at Epsom and is a colt who has taken a good step forward on each of his three racecourse appearances. He won a £30,000 maiden last time out and comes here as the highest rated horse in the race.

Crimson Spirit

Others will have to improve to match the level of form shown by Crimson Spirit. Dubai Hills ran well in a valuable sales race last time and may improve for the extra distance. Up the Jazz is progressing and is another threat

Crimson Spirit runs for syndicate owners Innovate Racing I and will be led up by Epona Miller.

Lil Guff

Lil Guff has had yet another fine season winning twice and was an agonising second last time out in a valuable Sunday Series race. She had been second in one of this racing league races a three days before so collected plenty of prize money.

Lil Guff

Michaela’s Boy drops in class and sets a tough standard for others too aim at. Beyond that it looks a very open contest.

Lil Guff is owned by Wayne Clifford and will be led up by Epona Miller who rides and cares for her daily at home.
