Thoughts on Wednesday’s Runners

We send out two runners from Sarsen Farm on Wednesday 5th June. ABBEY HEIGHTS heads to Nottingham taking part in the 3.27pm 6 furlong handicap, Richard Kingscote will be in the saddle. SALAMANCA LAD rounds the evening off with a trip to Ripon in the 9.00pm 1 mile handicap with Clifford Lee taking the ride.

ABBEY HEIGHTS

Abbey Heights made a low key return to action after a long lay off at Ascot. He should take a step forward today with that run under his belt. He is lightly raced for his age but we he did show plenty of potential as a youngster.

Abbey Heights

Fantasy Master is pretty consistent at this level and as likely a winner as anything. However, its Tyke who put up a career best last time who is the most interesting rival. He’s done most of his running on the all weather and not had many goes on the turf, especially over this trip. and it might be he is just a bit better at it. Above and Sergeant Pep are other consistent types who can play a part.

Abbey Heights runs for owners Gary and Lesley Middlebrook who also bred this son of Dark Angel. He will be led up by Ilse Beliën.

SALAMANCA LAD

Salamanca Lad has proven somewhat enigmatic, he clearly has some ability but lacks focus in his races. The tongue tie should help his breathing which may have been affecting him. We’ve come back in trip because his best performance was over this distance, and although he won on soft as a two year old, his action doesn’t scream its necessary. The drop into this grade is a plus for him.

George Wooster won well on his handicap debut, looking as if another furlong would only be a positive and looks the horse to beat. Havana Prince has course form which is always a positive at this idiosyncratic track. Like Angel of The Bay he looks a horse who is progressing at a modest level. Bellasio should benefit from the switch to handicap company having shown signs of ability in novice company.

Salamanca Lad runs in the colours of our in house partnership Fellowship Racing and Diskovery. He will be led up by Arla-Jade Cheshire.

If you are interested in joining one of our in house partnerships, take a look at the horses for sale page. There are a couple of options at the moment. Including a two year to race for the Diskovery Partnership called Echo of Glory. Echo of Glory is a strong two year old colt with a speedy pedigree. There are 5% or 10% shares available.
