Thoughts on Wild Saffron

Wild Saffron is our sole runner of the day. She will line up in the 7.00pm race for 6 furlong maiden Fillies at Chelmsford this evening (Thursday 15th of February). Jack Mitchell will be in the saddle.

Wild Saffron has improved with each start and ran well when second on this surface last time out. The drop back to six furlongs should be ok for her. We’ve targeted this race rather than go the handicap route as she is eligible to win the £20,000 Great British Bonus that is on offer to qualified winners of the race.

Wild Saffron’s main rival looks to be Shallow who put up a solid performance on debut to be second. Others would need to step forward on what they’ve shown so far.

Wild Saffron runs for Gary and Lesley Middlebrook who also bred the filly. She will be led up by Epona Miller who cares for her daily at home.
