Thoughts on You’re My Cracker
You’re my Cracker makes her second start for the yard at Bath in the 6.35 on Wednesday (1st July) evening. Richard Hughes takes the ride in the six furlong handicap. The filly made a pleasing start to her season at Windsor finishing second – although no match for a good winner. She should have come forward fitness wise from the run and hopefully any rustiness after a fair absence is all gone now. The trip looks fine for her although being drawn widest of all isn’t ideal there are only seven runners. The ground is going to be very quick which is always a slight concern as even a horse that needs quick ground might not enjoy the very fast conditions that seem likely to prevail.
The race is quite an open event, there are several recent winners. Brazen Spirit was in behind You’re My Cracker on her last run but it was also her first run for quite a while so improvement should not be discounted. Alrecchino’s Leap has been in good from of late and gained a deserved win on his last start at Brighton, however he appeared to need every yard of the seven furlongs that day and although he has some good form at six furlongs whether this drop in trip plays to all his strengths is questionable. Krazy Paving and Boarding Party are both having just there second starts in handicap company and could still be improving horses, that said both disappointed on their first attempts in handicaps.
