Thoughts on Zephyrina
Zephyrina runs in 4.30pm at Doncaster today (Sunday 5th July). Adam McNamara is in the irons for the mile handicap. The filly is drawn in stall 12 in the 20 runner field. She should enjoy the ease in the ground. She should come forward fitness wise for her first run of the year where she was a bit unlucky from a difficult position having missed the break.

The race looks very open, however most of the field are pretty exposed and perhaps the biggest danger could come from a lightly raced type such as Turntable for whom things went wrong last time on stable debut and still warrants respect. Lady Dauphin showed decent form for her previous stable particularly over a mile and now dropped in grade and switched back to that trip may present a danger on just her third start for new connections.
Zephyrina is by Big Bad Bob, out of the Barathea mare, Western Sky. She is owned by Patrick Whitten and will be led up today by Ilse Belien. The filly was purchased at Tattersalls September Yearling Sale by Daniel and Claire. and with a good pedigree, she will likely by retained by the Whitten’s to breed from in due course.
