Two fillies go to Lingfield tomorrow our thoughts…
After Rosaceous’s good win at Newbury on Thursday and a nice debut from Il Paparazzi we send out two more horses in maidens tomorrow night at Lingfield. Both will be ridden by James McDonald who after being champion jockey in his native New Zealand and riding over 200 winners in a season, has at the age of 21 has quickly established himself as the next big thing in Australia and already has 13 Group One victories to his name. He has come over for a working holiday and its great to be able to have such a talented jockey to ride our horses tomorrow.
Disko kicks off proceedings in the 5.55 in the five furlong maiden. She has shown plenty of potential on both starts finishing second both times, finding only the very classy looking Coulsty too good second time, his next start will probably be in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot. She has the worst of the draw to overcome but is well in herself and hopefully can get a bit of luck in running.
Disko’s main rival looks to be Senorita Guest who has run three times finishing third on each attempt. Amongst the newcomers Green Music is probably the most interesting.
Ghetto Diva makes her racecourse debut in the 7.25, a seven furlong maiden. She is a filly we’ve had to be patient with as she has had a few niggles but is finally coming together nicely. The penny is still dropping with her and she will learn plenty. That said this is not the strongest of maidens and the main protagonists Hornboy and Tanawar don’t set the highest of standards. If Ghetto Diva can break well and takes to racing well enough she wouldn’t be without a chance.
