Winner – Andaleep

Andaleep continued to build on his incredible record since switching to Sarsen Farm. He brought up a hat trick in fine style in a valuable Sunday Series Race at Sandown. William Carver was in the saddle in the apprentice race and despite being denied room at point, once the split came he put the race to bed well.

Shannon Passotti leads in William Carver aboard Andaleep

This was Andaleep’s fourth win in seven starts, having made the frame in the other three. When he arrived he came with a good track record at Sandown. Together with owner James Finch we picked this race out as the long term plan. The gelding was rated only 65 so it was critical we won at least a couple of races to ensure he would get into the race. Yesterday’s win was off a mark of 80. The victory represented a career best effort for the six year old according to Timeform. As he will not receive a penalty due to it being an apprentice race the next target will be a Racing League Race on the 1st of September at Windsor. He won at the track earlier this month and it’s another valuable target.

It has been an excellent August for Sarsen Farm. With seven winners so far the hard work of the horsemen and women in the team is really paying. Thank you to them and to our owners for their amazing support.

The Sunday Series – A Great Initiative

The Sunday Series is a great initiative with excellent prize money. Having won a race in the inaugural series in 2021 we were delighted to add another this season. The races in the series draw good sized, competitive fields and are exciting to watch. Don’t Tell Claire and Helm Rock both ran with credit later on in the card finishing 3rd and 6th respectively. There are very good prizes for the best turned out awards in each race too. The crowds are family orientated and their is a lovely relaxed atmosphere. It shows the industry can innovate, evolve and thrive. We are delighted to support the series with horses trained at Sarsen Farm.
