Winner – Bowland Park
Bowland Park ran out a convincing winner of the 7 furlong maiden at Chepstow yesterday afternoon. The two year old colt had learned plenty from his debut at Kempton and put the race to bed comfortably under David Egan. The colt is by New Bay who has made a strong start to his career as a stallion, with four winners from his first six runners. The son of Dubawi won the French Derby and had the versatility to be placed in both the French Guineas and the Prix De L’Arc de Triomphe.
Bowland Park was bred and is owned by Gary and Lesley Middlebrook. He is out of Distinctive who was a quick mare that won the Group 3 Firth of Clyde Stakes over six furlongs. Bowland Park looks an exciting prospect and the aim will be to continue to develop him in the hope of gaining some black type for the mare. He looks as if he will get a mile this year and probably a mile and a quarter next year.
