Winner – Chitra
Chitra brought up the third win of her young career at Newcastle on Wednesday evening. The two year old filly went down a short head at Catterick last week but returned home bouncing so we took advantage of the fact that she could run from the same handicap mark at Newcastle. It proved a wise decision as the filly scored in good style and showed her best level of form yet. It was also jockey Richard Kingscote’s 100th winner of the year. A fine achievement from a man who gets on with his job with little song and dance and keeps things simple in the saddle.
Chitra is a homebred filly of Gary and Lesley Middlebrook’s and was bought back for just £10,000 at Tattersalls Book 3 last year. She has already surpassed that figure in prize money earnings and looks sure to be winning more in the future. She’s had five races since the beginning of September and we will see how she is over the next few days. She will certainly get a couple of weeks to freshen up and we will take a look at the all weather program for her as she is certainly progressing.
As ever thanks to the whole team for their hard work both at home and on the track.
