Winner – Chitra

Chitra notched the sixth win of her career in a tightly fought contest at Lingfield on Monday afternoon. Gary and Lesley Middlebrook’s tough homebred daughter of Sea the Moon battled bravely under a well judged Richard Kingscote ride.

Breaking well from the gates as is her customary style the filly ended up just behind the leader and got a nice split as the horses fanned out around the home turn. Battling down the home straight her head was in front where it mattered.

The admirable sprinter has now won 6 of her 19 starts. Only four other horses of her generation have achieved that so far in their career in the UK. It’s a testament to her constitution and the hard work of the team at home in developing her.
