Winner – Ciara Pearl lands a hat-trick

Ciara Pearl made it 3 from 3 in 2024 yesterday afternoon at Bath Racecourse. The four year old filly was winning for the fourth time in six starts. Sent off the favourite in a race run at a steady pace, David Probert always had her near the front of the race. David was riding his first winner for the team and always looked in command. Quickening up three furlongs out, the filly was always doing enough out in front to hold the late finish of Expert Witness.

The next step for Ciara Pearl will probably depend on the handicapper. Having won a Sunday she’ll have options for until Friday the 10th of May under a penalty. She could sneak into some lower grade races from her new mark on the 11th and 12th of May. However she won three times in April so she may benefit from a bit more space. She is versatile having won over a mile and ten furlongs. The soft going yesterday proved no problem which keeps options open. The filly should be fine on faster turf and has already won on the all weather three times.

Ciara Pearl was purchased as yearling by Daniel & Claire for just £20,000 from Whatton Manor Stud at Tattersalls Sommerville Sale. She is also a half sister to Zulu Girl who was trained at Sarsen Farm and won four races.

Well done to all the team for their hard work with Ciara Pearl, groom Arla Cheshire who cares for her at home and rides her most days. Thank you to Andrew and Claire Stonehill for their continued support and we look forward to more exciting days together.
