Winner – Helm Rock

Helm Rock ran out a comfortable winner at Carlisle on Monday evening on their ladies night. A unique meeting exclusively for female jockeys. Nicola Currie was seen to excellent effect aboard the gelding who was recording his third career victory. In doing so he took his course record to three from three. It was also the third leg of a treble for Nicola on the day.

Sent on from the gates the 4 year old cut out the running. Nicola gave him an opportunity catch his breath around the bend before powering on up the hill. Helm Rock never really looked under pressure as he recorded a five length success. It was deserved success for the gelding who has put in string of consistent performances this season mixing it over seven furlongs and a mile. The ninth furlong proved no challenge and opens the door to further options over longer trips. However, in the immediate future the gelding could head back to Carlisle next Tuesday for a race over a mile.
