Winner – Involved

Involved won comfortably on his third start yesterday afternoon. Returning from a 277 day lay off the son of Havana Gold and Trick or Treat was given a canny ride by Robert Winston. Having analysed the previous runs of the heavy odds on favourite Kynance, there was just a slight question as to how resolute she would be in a battle so a plan was hatched to sit on her girths and keep her under pressure throughout the race. Turning in Involved’s ability began to tell and Kynance cracked as he eased past to go for a two and a half length victory.

Involved is the fifth winner from five runners for his dam and was bred by Peter Onslow at Sanfield Stud which he owns and runs with Ann Harrison, so congratulations to them and their team. He should stay further than the mile and half a furlong he won over yesterday and he should continue to progress with more experience too. All in all there is plenty to be excited about going forward for connections.

It was the second winner sent out from our new base at Sarsen Farm since moving in last month and sets the strike rate at over 28% with over 50% of runners in the money – a real standard to maintain. After a slow start to the season, things have picked up nicely in recent months and since the beginning of September the teams strike rate stands at an excellent 20.6 % with over 40% of runners finishing in the first three. Whilst we chase down our highest numeric total of winners we have already surpassed our previous best prize money total.
