Winner – L’Enclume
L’Enclume got 2022 off to a perfect start under Richard Kingscote in the 6.30 at Kempton yesterday evening (5th of January). The daughter of Gleneagles was stepping up in distance to a mile and half on her third start and ran out a relatively comfortable winner seeing a previous winner off in the final furlong to assert well by the time they got to the line. She is out of Mama Quilla, who has her own little place in history for being the final leg of Richard Hughes’s seven timer at Windsor. Mama Quilla is a half sister to Group One winners Whipper and Divine Proportions.
Congratulations to owners Gary & Lesley Middlebrook who bred the filly at Wood Farm Stud. Thanks to all their team for the hard work they put in raising these horses as youngsters. As ever thanks to all the team here at Sarsen Farm who have developed this filly who looks open to further progression with more racing and given the manner she finished the race could well be effective over further.
