Winner – Lovers’ Gait
Lovers’ Gait got off the mark on her first run for the yard at Bath on Saturday evening. The filly was given a beautifully judged front running ride by Liam Keniry. The team have put a lot of hard work into developing this fillies confidence and a regimen that involves plenty of turn out has been key to getting the best out of her. Billie Portwin who rides her nearly every day has patiently given her more and more confidence. A special thanks also to Gary and Craig Witheford for improving her gate work.
A big thanks also to owners Simon Hope and Stephen Barrow who have been incredibly patient and supportive since the filly arrived with us and were duly rewarded with a comprehensive success.
There is undoubtedly some talent to the filly and hopefully she can continue to build on her impressive win in better company. This was just her fourth start and a big step forward from what she had shown for her previous trainer. She is well bred filly, being out of the graded stakes placed Liberally who is half sister to 1,000 Guineas winner Speciosa. Liberally is also the dam of Bell Rock who looks a potential stakes performer having achieved a handicap rating of 103.
