Winner – Monkey Miss

Monkey Miss opened her account with a convincing win at Bath on Bank Holiday Monday. Ridden by Richard Kingscote, who went on to land a treble the filly was a touch slow away, but they didn’t go an overly hard gallop and she gradually worked her way through the pack, always going quite nicely she was able to pull well clear in the end as one by one her rivals dropped away. Monkey Miss had never been too far away in her handicap starts but had to endure a string of poor draws that made life quite difficult. The plus of course being that her handicap mark has dropped.

Having won well it will be interesting to see what the handicapper makes of Monkey Miss’s performance. That will to an extent dictate her future plans, but it may be that it is advantageous to run again soon under a penalty.

The three year old filly was winning for her owner breeders Wayne and Sarah Clifford who raised the filly at their Byerley Stud. By Due Diligence, she is the first foal out of Savannah’s Show. Congratulations to the Clifford’s and their team. As ever thanks to all the team at Sarsen Farm for their hard work developing this filly and turning her into a winning racehorse.
