Winner – Outgate

Outgate was given a lovely ride by Nicola Currie at Haydock Park yesterday afternoon to secure a valuable prize in the Skybet Sunday Series. The two year old colt was picking up his second win on just his fourth start. The early pace was strong and Nicola sat the colt off the pace initially however as the leader slackened around the bend, he gradually crept into things to challenge up the home stretch initially battling off the market leader before asserting his superiority in the final stages of the race.

A homebred of Gary & Lesley Middlebrook’s the colt has shown plenty of ability at home and is still developing into the finished article, he looks an exciting prospect and should continue to improve in the final stages of this season and as a three year old. We will see what the handicapper does and look at the options, but he could be a horse that it might be worth trying in stakes company.
