Winner – Outrage

Outrage won the 3:50 at Newcastle on Friday (16th December) under a confident ride from George Downing. Having already had four starts on the all weather this winter, he was due a bit of a luck – having been beaten under three lengths on every start. The straight course at Newcastle proved ideal as he didn’t encounter the troubled passage he has on some of his recent starts. George rode him with plenty of confidence settling him towards the rear of the field before asking him to move forward as the race became serious, always travelling comfortably he looked much the best horse in the race, pulling away from the field with the well backed runner up Foxy Forever, who he was always holding, leaving last time out winners Royal Mezyan and Landing Night in his wake.

He has an engagement at Kempton on Tuesday which he may well take up as it would seem likely that Outrage will face a rise in the weights and have to take on a higher grade in future.
