Winner – Salamanca Lad

Salamanca Lad won for the first time since arriving at Sarsen Farm on Thursday evening. Given an excellent front running ride by David Egan the the three year old never saw his rivals. Going through the early part of the race at no more than steady fractions, his rivals began crack when David upped the ante. Salamanca Lad ran out a fairly comfortable winner. The handicapper will have their say and that will dictate his next step.

Salamanca Lad with happy connections

Salamanca Lad runs for partnership run in house, Fellowship Racing & Diskovery Partnership. The gelding was bought for just £12,000 at last October’s horses in training sale. He has been placed twice and won once from his five starts so far. He was identified by Daniel & Claire as potentially having more to come based on analysis of his stride data and pedigree. It’s taken a little bit of working out to identify his optimum conditions and get the right headgear combination right. It has been a fun journey with some good days out. The jubilant celebrations are what its all about. He’ll continue to give us all a bit of fun in the coming months.

David Egan after winning on Salamanca Lad

The July horses in training sales are just around the corner. We will be looking to add to the team. If you are interested in finding a horse to win for you, either outright or if you’d be keen in taking a share please do let us know.

Thank you and well done to all the team who have worked hard to bring the best out in him. A mention for Epona Miller who cares for him and rides him a lot of the time.
