Winner – Silhouette toughs it out

Stuart Lake with his partner Vivienne O’Sullevan have supported us for quite a while now and we’ve had plenty of fun both at the races with their horses and during their visits to the yard or visiting their picturesque stud in Devon. It was lovely to reward their loyal support with a tenacious victory from Silhouette at Wolverhampton under an excellent Richard Kingscote ride. 

Richard rode the gelding last week and suggested the course and distance would be ideal and was chuffed his plan worked out. When he has run over a mile the gelding has been a model of consistency and deserved to win, holding off the strong late challenge of the odds on favourite as the pair pulled 8 lengths clear of the field. 

Silhouette was purchased at Tattersalls Ireland, a brilliant hunting ground for racehorses and we were delighted to add four yearlings to the string last week at this year’s edition of the sale.
