Winner – Southwold

Southwold opened his account on debut yesterday evening at Newcastle in the 5.45. The son of Gleneagles was ridden by Tom Eaves. In a slowly run affair Southwold was always travelling comfortably and showed his inexperience when sent on in front. This was little more than a racecourse gallop for the gelding and we look forward to more challenging tasks in the future with the three year old.

Southwold is the second foal out of Intrigue who was also a winner for the yard. She joined us as four year old maiden. Intrigue is out of the very good race mare Riberac who improved as she got older. It is a family that has been developed by the Middlebrook’s who bred and raced Riberac.

As ever thank you to all the team for their hard work developing these horses and thank you to the team on the stud farm who do a brilliant job nurturing them in their younger years.
