Winner – Zulu Girl
Zulu Girl continued her sparkling form since joining the yard with a gutsy front running performance in the Brighton Mile Challenge yesterday afternoon under a well judged ride by Nicola Currie. The feature race of the afternoon and with a healthy prize fund the winner of the race is also awarded the Brighton Mile Challenge Trophy. It was great result for owners Colin & Trish Fletcher Hall, whose mare has now won three races, all since arriving at Sarsen Farm.

This race represented a big step up in class for Zulu Girl who had been raised 10lbs by the handicapper for a good win at Chepstow last month. However, she is improving and there could well be more to come, she sees out the mile strongly so we could well take a look at a valuable Sky Bet Sunday Series race over nine furlongs at Sandown in a couple of weeks time as her next target.

Zulu Girl’s success is down to a number of factors, she has really blossomed in the surroundings at Sarsen Farm, the horsemanship of the team and the analytical work we have done to optimise placing her to win. It continued a rich vein of form for the team with five wins from the last 16 runners. What is most pleasing is they are a real mix of horses, from two year old debutants to improving older horses like Zulu Girl.
